Home Learning Expectations

March 17 - April 3, 2020



As we prepare to enter unchartered waters, Fairfield Local will be providing reinforcement instructional activities for all students. All classroom teachers and Intervention Specialists will be available each week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 8am to 11:30am to provide additional assistance by telephone, email, or video conferencing. Students are not permitted in the buildings during this extended break. If additional hard-copies are needed, please contact the appropriate building secretary or principal to complete this request.

Grades Kindergarten-1:

  • Students will be given packets of activities and assignments to continue learning at home that do not require the use of technology.  These packets will be distributed to students on Monday, March 16th. If additional copies are needed, you may contact the building secretary or principal at (937)780-2988 to arrange pick up or print off our district’s website.  

  • Optional online resources will also be given to help enhance and/or supplement instruction.  

  • A calendar explaining the daily completion of assignments will be given to students on Monday, March 16th and will also be posted on Fairfield’s website. Please complete these activities daily as assigned. 
     

Grades 2-5:

  • Students will be given a blended model for learning (online and paper).  Paper copies will be distributed to students who do not have internet access on Monday, March 16th. If additional copies are needed, you may contact the building secretary or principal at (937) 780-2988 to arrange pickup or print off our district’s website.  

  • A calendar explaining the daily completion of assignments will be given to students on Monday, March 16th and will also be posted on Fairfield’s website. Please complete these activities daily as assigned. 
     

Kindergarten-5th Grade Unified Arts:

  • Students will be given a “Special’s Grab Bag” that contains activities that will target specific skills from the Physical Education teacher, Music teacher, and Art teacher. 
     

Grades 6-8:

  • Students, if possible, will need to complete their home-learning assignments online. If the student does not have the capability of working online, teachers will be providing paper copies of instructional activities to be completed and returned to their teachers. 

  • Opportunities to pick-up hard-copies of home-learning assignments will be available upon request. (Please contact the building secretary or principal at 937-780-2977).

  • Teachers will be available to provide assistance to parents, guardians, or students Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday’s from 8am to 11:30am via telephone calls, emails, and Google Hangout video conference calls.
     

Grades 9-12 (High School):

  • Students will receive instructional activities for all subjects using a combination of on-line (Study Island, Google, Progress Book) and printed packets. Home learning materials will be distributed to students on Monday, March 16th.

  • Students participating in CCP Chemistry and CCP Trigonometry will participate in instructional activities via Google Hangouts. The classroom teachers will provide a schedule of live viewing times and the link to view at your convenience.
     

Special Education/Student Services: 

  • Students receiving services under an Individualized Education Plan or 504 plan will receive accommodations or modifications to assignments as appropriate under the student’s IEP. 

  • The Student Services Department will continue to hold meetings with parents concerning the review of IEPs that are due for review. The parents will be contacted by the Special Services Department to schedule meetings as appropriate. This will only be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 8am to 11am.

  • Students who receive services from a Reading Specialist will receive a packet of activities to be completed daily.
     

Part-/Full-time CCP Students:

  • Students receiving educational services from our local colleges are directed to follow the college's guidance.
